What is a good starter bike for someone interested in motorcycling?
I want it to be some what of a crotch rocket- not a harley or chromed out bike that sits really low. I need something that doesn’t way a ton but at the same time packs enough power to get around on highways and such. Any suggestions?
how about a kawasaki ninja?
if you’re talking sport bikes, there is absolutely no reason for a beginner NOT to try the ninja 250r.
It’s essentially a purpose built learner sport bike. You can buy it cheap, and sell it for pretty much what you paid for it (they hold their value really well).
As for lessons, the MSF basic rider course is an excellent place to start. It’s only $25 here in ohio.
From there you could do the advanced rider courses, but they are geared more towards cruisers.
Track days are the best way to learn sport bikes, go to a couple of novice track days, you’ll be a much better rider for it.
Remember to wear all your gear (good helmet and jacket are bare minumum…)
